Yulia Berry, an accomplished American flutist and teacher of Russian descent, holds a Doctor of Music Arts degree and has over 25 years of continuous performance and teaching experience across the United States, Europe, and Russia.

Currently based in Boston, MA, she leads Yulia Berry’s Flute Studio and the New England Flute Institute (NEFI). Through her innovative pedagogy, she inspires students of all levels to achieve their fullest potential. Her students have earned placements in prestigious ensembles such as the Massachusetts Youth Wind Ensemble, the New England Conservatory’s Baroque Ensemble, the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra, as well as Junior and Senior District Festivals, the All-State Festival, and ensembles and orchestras at the Longy School of Music.

Yulia Berry has revolutionized flute education globally as the founder of Flute Almanac and The Babel Flute, and creator of Web Flute Academy and other innovative platforms. She directed the first Global Flute Convention in 2022-2023 and launched the Flute Almanac platform in 2024. In 2025, she established the Global Flute Excellence Awards, supported by Sir James and Lady Jeanne Galway.

From 2012 to 2021, she co-founded the Young Virtuoso Flute Competition in Saint Petersburg, Russia, providing performance opportunities for young flutists. In 2018 and 2019 Yulia Berry was in the jury of the International Internet competition My Favorite Flute.

Yulia Berry has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in prestigious venues around the world, and has been praised for her virtuosity, musicality, and expressive playing.

A prolific writer and researcher, she explores the flute’s role in art, culture, and history.

Several composers, including Marius Herea, Onorio Zaralli, and Eugene Magalif, have dedicated works to her.

Yulia Berry earned her Doctor of Music Arts (D.M.A.) from the Saint Petersburg State Conservatory named after N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov, specializing in Flute Performance, Flute Pedagogy, and General Music Education, and holds a Master of Music (M.M.) degree with Honors (Cum Laude) from the Saint-Petersburg State College of Music named after M.P. Mussorgsky.
