ABOUT LOWELL LIEBERMANN

Lowell Liebermann is one of America’s most celebrated contemporary composers, internationally recognized for a body of work that combines lyrical expression, emotional depth, and exceptional craftsmanship. His music is performed regularly by leading orchestras, soloists, and chamber ensembles throughout the world, earning him a distinguished place among the most influential living composers of his generation.

A graduate of The Juilliard School, where he studied with David Diamond and Vincent Persichetti, Liebermann has composed extensively across orchestral, chamber, vocal, and solo genres. His works have been commissioned, performed, and recorded by many of the world’s foremost artists and institutions, and have become an important part of the modern concert repertoire.

Liebermann’s contributions to the flute repertoire are particularly significant. His compositions, including the Sonata for Flute and Piano, Op. 23, Concerto for Flute and Orchestra, Op. 39, and Eight Pieces for Solo Flute, Op. 59, are regarded as modern classics and are widely performed by professional flutists, students, and competition participants around the globe.
