Bärenreiter Praha is the Czech subsidiary of the internationally renowned Bärenreiter publishing group and one of the country’s leading publishers of scholarly critical editions, Urtext editions, and educational music publications.

Founded in Prague in December 1991, Bärenreiter Praha was established as the youngest subsidiary of Bärenreiter-Verlag, headquartered in Kassel, Germany. Its creation marked the culmination of many years of collaboration between Bärenreiter and Czech music publishers, including the former state publishing house Supraphon. From its inception, the company adopted a publishing program dedicated to promoting Czech music and making it accessible through Bärenreiter’s international distribution network.

Today, Bärenreiter Praha publishes scholarly critical editions, Urtext editions, educational literature, and performance materials while preserving and promoting the works of Czech composers from the Baroque period to the present day. The publisher is internationally recognized for its editorial standards and close collaboration with musicologists, performers, and academic institutions.
