ABOUT YULIA BERRY

Yulia Berry, DMA, is a Russian-American flutist, educator, editor, and digital innovator recognized for her contributions to flute education, publishing, and international community building. She is the founder and Executive Director of Flute Almanac, a leading global platform dedicated to flute news, education, research, history, and professional development.

A graduate of the Saint Petersburg Conservatory, Berry combines classical training with a forward-thinking approach to communication, technology, and educational outreach. Throughout her career, she has developed a series of pioneering international initiatives designed to connect flutists across geographical and cultural boundaries, including The Babel Flute, Web Flute Academy, The Global Flute Convention, the Global Flute Excellence Awards, and the Global Flute Directory.

Through Flute Almanac, she has created a multilingual ecosystem that provides free access to articles, interviews, research, reviews, educational resources, and professional opportunities for the international flute community. Her work has helped expand access to information while fostering collaboration among performers, educators, composers, makers, researchers, and organizations worldwide.

Berry is also the author of When Sound Becomes Meaning, a collection of essays examining music, perception, creativity, and the philosophical dimensions of artistic experience.

In 2024, Yulia Berry was recognized by Marquis Who’s Who for outstanding achievement and professionalism as a flutist, educator, and founder of a global flute platform.

As Founder and Executive Director of Flute Almanac and Founder and Host of the Global Flute Excellence Awards, she continues to support excellence, innovation, and international cooperation throughout the flute world.
