Aude Prieur
Aude Prieur is a French multidisciplinary flutist, composer, and educator whose work bridges classical performance, contemporary amplified music, jazz, folk traditions, and world music.
Active as a professional musician for over two decades, she is widely recognized for her artistic versatility, creative experimentation, and commitment to cross-genre dialogue.
Trained initially in the classical tradition, Aude expanded her musical language through extensive work in amplified music, traditional and folk styles, jazz, and global repertoires. Her artistic practice encompasses a broad range of instruments, including C flute, piccolo, alto flute, Irish and folk flutes, Native American flutes, whistles, and voice. In parallel, she has developed innovative approaches integrating electronics, effect pedals, and electro-acoustic techniques into flute performance.
Aude is a graduate of the Conservatoire de Tours, Pôle Aliénor, and the University of Tours, and holds the Diplôme d’État (DE) in flute for amplified contemporary music. She currently teaches flute (concert, alto, piccolo, whistle) at Musique et Équilibre and leads a Celtic music workshop, while regularly giving masterclasses in France and abroad. She also serves on examination and competition juries in both classical and contemporary amplified music at departmental and national levels.
Her discography reflects her wide-ranging artistic interests, with recordings spanning solo flute, electro-acoustic projects, collaborative ensembles, and socially engaged works. Alongside performance, she is active as an arranger and orchestrator, including projects related to film music. In 2021, she was named Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, recognizing her contribution to cultural life in France.
As a Judge of the Global Flute Excellence Awards (2025), Aude Prieur brings a distinctly multidisciplinary perspective, combining deep pedagogical experience, contemporary performance practice, and an inclusive artistic vision.
Her participation supports the Awards’ commitment to artistic excellence, innovation, and global representation within the flute community.
