The Museum of Performing Arts (Scenkonstmuseet) in Stockholm is a vibrant cultural institution dedicated to theatre, music, and dance. Its collections bring together stage props, costumes, set designs, musical instruments, and archival materials that trace Sweden’s performing arts heritage.

The museum is part of Sweden’s national music authority, Statens musikverk, and its instrument collection is integrated into the international MIMO (Musical Instrument Museums Online) database. Among its treasures are numerous flutes and woodwinds, as well as the famed gold flute of Swedish flutist Gunilla von Bahr, preserved in the collection.

Exhibitions combine history and interactivity, inviting visitors to explore performance traditions in innovative and engaging ways. The museum regularly hosts temporary exhibitions, performances, and educational activities that link past artistry with contemporary practice.
