Mimi Stillman is the Founding Artistic & Executive Director and flutist of the Dolce Suono Ensemble (DSE), which she established in 2005.
Hailed as “an adventurous ensemble” (The New York Times) and “one of the most dynamic groups in the US” (The Huffington Post), DSE has been thrilling audiences and invigorating the music world through innovative chamber music programming, commissions, and community engagement projects.
Under Stillman’s leadership, DSE presents its home series in Philadelphia, tours nationally and internationally, commissions significant new works, and records albums that have earned critical acclaim. The ensemble’s projects uniquely combine artistic excellence with intellectual depth, setting music in its broadest cultural and historical context.
