International Nicolet Competition Guangzhou
The International Nicolet Competition Guangzhou was established in 2006 to honor the legacy of Aurèle Nicolet, one of the most influential flutists and pedagogues of the 20th century. Created to advance the standard of flute performance among young Chinese musicians and foster international artistic exchange, the competition quickly earned global recognition due to Nicolet’s involvement as the head of the jury at its inaugural edition.
Held every four years in Guangzhou, China, the competition attracts flutists from around the world, offering a distinguished platform that combines high artistic standards with cultural dialogue between East and West. Each edition features a prestigious international jury, performance rounds held in major concert venues, and opportunities for laureates to appear in gala concerts and international festivals.
