The Dutch International Flute Competition is one of Europe’s most vibrant and inclusive flute events, held annually during the Adams Flute Festival each April in Ittervoort, the Netherlands. Founded in 2011, it was created to inspire and support young flutists and students from around the world by providing an engaging platform for performance, exchange, and artistic growth.

Each year, around 150 participants from over 25 countries take part in the competition’s multiple categories, designed specifically for students and emerging professionals. In addition to the main Master’s and Young Talents divisions, the competition also features special categories for Piccolo and Traverso (Baroque flute) every two years.

Celebrated for its international atmosphere, accessibility, and high educational value, the Dutch International Flute Competition has become a launching pad for many future professional flutists, helping them gain experience, visibility, and mentorship from leading performers and teachers.
