The Geneva International Music Competition (Concours de Genève) is one of the world’s oldest and most respected music competitions, founded in 1939 to discover and support the careers of exceptional young musicians.

A proud founding member of the World Federation of International Music Competitions (WFIMC), it upholds the highest artistic standards and has helped launch the international careers of countless laureates.

Held annually in Geneva’s historic Victoria Hall, the competition alternates between instrumental and vocal categories, including flute, clarinet, oboe, piano, cello, voice, percussion, string quartet, and composition. Beyond prizes, it provides long-term support through career development workshops, concert tours, and professional mentoring — a distinctive hallmark of the Geneva competition.

For flutists, the Concours de Genève represents one of the most prestigious international stages, historically linked to the great French-Swiss flute tradition.
