The Canadian Music Competition (CMC) is a prestigious annual national contest for young classical musicians across Canada, including a dedicated Flute Division. Founded in 1958, the CMC supports the artistic growth of pre-college and post-secondary students through performance evaluation, ranking, and exposure to a national audience.
The competition features multiple age categories (starting at age 7) and culminates in a national final round and gala concert, held in a different Canadian city each year.
Competitors must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents.
