Founded in 2006, the Aeolus International Competition for Wind Instruments is one of Europe’s most respected competitions for young wind players. Organized by the Sieghardt Rometsch Foundation in Düsseldorf, it aims to promote outstanding emerging talents and highlight the artistic excellence of wind instrument performance.

Each year, the competition focuses on three rotating categories from among flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, saxophone, trumpet, horn, trombone, and tuba. Its mission is to encourage international exchange and provide a platform for young musicians to showcase their artistry at the highest professional level.

The competition’s prestige is further enhanced by substantial financial awards, professional engagements, and concert opportunities with leading orchestras.
