ABOUT DENIS VERROUST

Denis Verroust is a French flutist, researcher, author, and cultural leader whose work has made a lasting impact on the international flute community. Widely respected for his scholarship and dedication to preserving flute heritage, he has devoted much of his career to documenting, promoting, and advancing the artistic legacy of some of the most important figures in flute history.

As Founder and President of the Jean-Pierre Rampal Association (AJPR), Verroust has played a central role in preserving and promoting the legacy of Jean-Pierre Rampal, one of the most influential flutists of the twentieth century. He is the author of Jean-Pierre Rampal – La flûte universelle, a landmark publication that has become an important reference for performers, educators, and researchers interested in flute history and performance.

In addition to his research and publications, Verroust serves as Artistic Director of La Traversière, where he leads national and international projects devoted to flute performance, education, scholarship, and cultural exchange. Through conventions, lectures, publications, recordings, and collaborative initiatives, he has helped strengthen connections among flutists and institutions worldwide.
