Dana Sheridan began making flutes in 1972 while studying music composition at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. He later worked with major flute manufacturers including Wm. S. Haynes, Verne Q. Powell and Brannen Brothers before launching his own headjoint and flute production in 1982.

Sheridan’s handcrafted headjoints are described as combining “American innovation and German precision.” They are known for responsive feel, stable pitch, ease of articulation, and a warm, flexible sound across registers.

Dana Sheridan retired from flute making in 2019, and his headjoints and flutes are now highly sought after.
