ABOUT LAURA CHISLETT

Australian flute player Laura Chislett is an internationally recognised performer, educator and recording artist across a wide range of musical styles. Her recorded repertoire ranges from JS Bach and Lili Boulanger, to Brian Ferneyhough, Reza Vali, improvisation and for the iconic Australian TV series, Against The Wind.

It’s perhaps in the extraordinary solo flute repertoire of the late 20th Century onwards that Laura has especially made her mark, forging her way through epic journeys of daring sonic landscapes and exploratory modes of expression. Laura has become known for her inspiring and rigorous performances, described as the “Rolls Royce versions” by the legendary composer Horatiu Radulescu.

Notable collaborations have been with composers Edward Cowie, Chris Dench, Michael Smetanin, Gerard Brophy, Julian Yu, Maurice Weddington, Brad Gill and Sharon Calcraft.
