ABOUT EMMANUEL PAHUD
Emmanuel Pahud is widely regarded as one of the world’s foremost flutists, admired for his extraordinary artistry, versatility, and dedication to expanding the flute repertoire.
Born in Geneva in 1970, he studied with Michel Debost, Aurèle Nicolet, and Pierre-Yves Artaud before winning the prestigious Concours de Genève (1992). At the age of 22, he was appointed Principal Flute of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, a position he still holds today while maintaining an acclaimed international solo career.
As a soloist, Pahud has performed with leading orchestras including the London Philharmonic, Rotterdam Philharmonic, Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich, NHK Symphony Orchestra, and many others, collaborating with conductors such as Claudio Abbado, Simon Rattle, Daniel Barenboim, and Paavo Järvi. His repertoire ranges from Baroque to contemporary, with numerous premieres dedicated to him.
