ABOUT MIMI STILLMAN
Mimi Stillman is an internationally acclaimed flutist, chamber musician, educator, recording artist, and author.
Praised by The New York Times as “not only a consummate and charismatic performer, but also a scholar whose programs tend to activate ear, heart, and brain,” she is renowned for her virtuosity, insightful interpretation, and adventurous programming.
She is the Founding Artistic Director of Dolce Suono Ensemble, which has presented over 70 world premieres in 20 seasons. As a soloist, she has performed with leading ensembles including The Philadelphia Orchestra, Marine Chamber Orchestra of “The President’s Own” US Marine Band, Orquesta Sinfónica de Yucatán, and has appeared in recital at Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and major international festivals such as Verbier (Switzerland).
A respected educator, Stillman has taught masterclasses for the National Flute Association, Eastman School of Music, École Normale de Musique de Paris, and numerous universities and conservatories across the United States, Europe, and Latin America. She serves as Artist-in-Residence on the faculty of Temple University’s Boyer College of Music and Dance, and is Instructor in Music and Art at the Barnes Foundation.
Her concerts and recordings are broadcast globally, and she is the host of the popular livestream series “Tea with Mimi.”
