Beginning with just four members rehearsing at Zion Lutheran Church, Fiesta Flutes has flourished into an ensemble of more than 35 flutists. Weekly Thursday rehearsals continue the choir’s tradition of joyful collaboration. Their mission is to share the beauty of flute choir music with the community, providing opportunities for players to learn, grow, and perform together.
The Fiesta Flutes Choir is a vibrant San Antonio–based ensemble open to all adult flutists, from novice players to seasoned professionals.
Founded in 2005 by Mary Hegdal, the group was inspired by the unique sound of all-flute ensembles. With no auditions or fees, Fiesta Flutes embodies inclusivity, welcoming members 18 and older who love to play the flute.
